Whatcha reading, Tex?

Fiction, non-fiction, technical, whatever... as long as it's the dead-tree edition (bloat!),

I'm reading "Spook Country" by William Gibson (slowly):

And technically...

Thanks. I was just thinking today about starting a thread for books.

I just finished this

and now I'm reading this

That UNIX book looks interesting -- I'll have to see if I can get it from the library here.
(edit) found it through interlibrary loan -- thanks!

Most everything that I'm reading in hard-copy right now is a textbook.

I started this on a Nook to keep my old copy intact for the first couple of chapters (so that's sort of cheating), but my husband found a used reprint of:

Currently reading The Lord of the Rings... At first it was kind of surprising how big a difference there is between the book and the movies (not just story wise).

Thing is, I met this gentleman in the Mirador Mansion in Hong Kong by accident, and had a very good and interesting talk about 1950s China. I got this book as a present from him on the day he left :) It was quite refreshing to hear first-hand experience without bias or anger, though he would really have some reasons to be upset about stuff that happened those years.

I already read Lord of the Rings as a child but never The Hobbit, that is what I began yesterday and the beginning is just like in the movie which we have to see the second part next month.

^ hihihi, you're such a teaser, now i know why the girls love you so ;)

btw, dunno if serious or trolling, but solo-tantra is in existence. some people call it 'jerking off while visualizing rainbows flowing out of your dick' though. take from that what you will :D
