oh time to read! Like read an actual whole chapter of a book :D
last thing I read was actually 'The tangled web' By Michał Zalewski
Very good (and the previous one - Silence on the wire) if you want to understand better how web stuff works. (I didn't, and still don't fully)

I have so many books but not the time.

I do not read mmuch nowadays, but have read two third of a trilogy by Rachel Cusk. It consists of, "Outlines", "Transit" and now I am looking forward to the last one called "Kudos". After the first book I were like....wtf was that?????????????? Thought something like...who cares, sometimes it just is not your cup of tea. Did not think about it for a while, then suddenly, four months later I made a weird discovery whilst reading about another book, that seemed to have a somewhat similar concept. That the first book "Outlines", were kind of, and still is in fact, living it`s own life inside of me, very vivid, very present. So I decided to read it again, and now I have just finished "Transit" for the second time. Looking forward to "Kudos", which I also plan to read two times. :)

I always find time to read. Can't live without books, geek as I am. :)

Started Roberto Bolaño's first novel today: "La Pista di Ghiaccio".

The title alone makes me want to read it. Thanks for sharing.

I followed that with "The People's Platform" by Astra Taylor, but I found it too US centred for my interests. No offence intended, I know where Silicon Valley is, I just was expecting something more global.

I am reading a book in German right now. The title would be translated like The war before the war - How propaganda decides about life and death. I cannot find an English version though the book is originally in German by Ulrich Teusch. It is about journalism and how mainstream media actually never prevented a war instead they fueled them.

I love etymology, and this book has lots of it.

^ There's not as much etymology as I thought -- there is a lot about her travels in Greece and other stuff. But it's still an interesting read. I love my Kindle for etymology -- I used to read with a dictionary so I could look up the origins of words, but the Kindle has it built in.

Now I need to find a book or two about Latin/English etymology -- knowing Italian must help you with that.

I recognize a lot of Latin/Greek roots from when I learned them as an undergrad and graduate student, but it still fascinates me. English steals words from everywhere.

^ Absolutely exploiting the Kindle's dictionary facilities here too. Italian helps with Latin, but Greek is stronger beast to tame for me.

^ Superb reading, and incredibly relevant today even though it was written in 1934. Highly recommended.

Couldn't really stand the writing, it felt like the author was on a pedestal imparting life-lessons using the most obnoxious vocabulary he could find. And now I'm on something lighter because I need a break from other studies:
