@pete: Just make sure to remember the correct keybindings, especially for killing X :) And check if the computer you use the presentation on has a Windows key (my IBM doesn't, and some WMs don't work as expected)

@MB - will do :-) I'll take my own laptop. The best Murphy-proof plan would be to have a all WMs at hand, AND make a screencast before and post that on Youtube. As a Plan B.

I vote for all of em, doesn't the Baconator have a bbq release with every DE/WM known to humankind on it ? :P

Was about to double back and make a more serious suggestion, then decided had better read the OP and Mr Tatoe already beat me to it. Agrees with ya on @ least hitting both ends of the nix spectrum, not that think the LM DE's you're considering are bad choices. Though why not go for the king of Nix bloatiness ( no not Unity!) KDE ftw !

Sheesh recall J even went a longggg way towards unbloated that beast. Vll ! ;)
