Public service announcement: If you're using DSA keys and upgraded to OpenSSH 7.x, you have to manually enable use of ssh-dss. Change to a better cipher type before SSH abandons DSA completely at which point you'll be locked out.

I've long out of the loop here, but I though RSA was the way to go for some time now

since most were/are there for the community, they should have let it die - #! - and continue as a community only.

^ yeah, where's the value in using Debian Stable that I'd replace anyway with Sid, plus Openbox that I'd replace anyway for another WM, plus a certain set of GUI apps that I'd replace anyway to replace it with some other shit, plus a community that I'd leave anyway for what we have here. :D

I say banana, you say raspberry, but https://www.raspberrypi.org/products/pi-zero/ NOBODY TALKS ABOUT THESE THINGS, or you're scared of hardware.

http://www.freeoffice.com/

Softmaker's Free Office is probably the best Office suite if you have to deal with MS Word documents or Excel files. They are im- and exported perfectly. Not OSS, but maybe worth a mention. You need to register with a name and email address to receive the serial number. Look & Feel is very much like in the olden days of Win 95.

The encroachment of systemd seems inevitable, and I expect Debian to eventually deprecate sysvinit in the years ahead. Such that if/when that happens, I have considered the merits of replacing the debian repos in sources.list with devuan ones. Where the only packages that currently differ between the two repos are those that depend on systemd. And provided that the siduction packages I'm using don't directly depend on systemd etc, they would likely be unaffected too.

So I'm not planning do this anytime soon. But is my cunning plan feasible or entirely misconcieved?

Siduction could just do the same and make some packages depend on systemd. At least they explicitly support systemd.

As for Devuan, I do not care. You can still install other inits in Debian. We have quite some fans of OpenRC here.
Though it is true that more and more packages depend on it. Again, I do not care as long as I can use them with my preferred init system.
