^Wuhuu, kind of knew it though. There is always talk about docker in their forums. It is bit of a niche distro, but it does so extremely well.
TBX, routers, Pi's and now docker, just shows how strong that distro is. And the packagemanager is quite descent. Me thinks I will fire one up again, and hope I will succeed this time.

^ yup, it's nice to see some sane people still appreciate minimalist approach. I too will soon try alpine again, when i don't feel too lazy packaging and patching things.... :)

I'd say that's another endorsement for alpine.

coreutils 8.25 and ls

Unread post by pidsley » Tue Feb 16, 2016 4:30 pm

coreutils 8.25 changes the way "ls" handles filenames with spaces and special characters.

Probably no one here noticed, because who uses filenames with spaces or special characters?

Old way:

Code: Select all

gadget: ~ $ ls
normal-filename stupid filename with a single ' quote stupid filename with spaces
New way:

Code: Select all

gadget: ~ $ ls
normal-filename 'stupid filename with a single '\'' quote' 'stupid filename with spaces'
To get the old behavior back, use "ls -N" or add -N to your ls alias.

Thanks for this one. Rarely I use space in filenames, but I didn't know about -N.

New version out now: http://www.pragmaticlinux.org/

You know when we talk about distros just slapping some make-up on and calling it a new user friendly OS?
I wonder if he has done that too and copied the bloody forum as well.
No wonder, no one has registered there since September last year...
