I *think* the men in black from my company (not really mine, but you know what I mean), would come in visit me if I downloaded and installed that behind our corporate firewall.

^ Predictable :)

Though, the article states: "Systemd has become the preferred choice of all major GNU/Linux desktop operating systems." That's not really true (Slackware, gentoo, ???)

@paolo: no problems, see bacon's reply, and ivan's swift handling of the matter... no blame, just information :)

The shitstorm can begin (systemd vs upstart):

^ Oh that's funny. Of course, there would have been a shitstorm either way.

It was already one. Sometimes there are just too many idiots. Of course, the upstart guys are pissed in Debian.

Childish drama at the pink swirl. And all because of something that can be solved with apt-get. Dafuq, Debian. Grave bug, huh?

https://lists.debian.org/debian-ctte/20 ... 00347.html

I vote for FD because this fits the freshness of Debian. What a ridiculous issue.

systemd: broken by design http://t.co/MBbGsnDSVV
someone already commented on that: https://tim.siosm.fr/blog/2014/02/10/ew ... x-systemd/

291 downloads from the "Community" directory (Old School and Psychedelic Shitstorm) in seven days. 187 on one day. 74% in Italy. Checking further reveals most of those Italians are downloading Psychedelic Shitstorm, not Old School. I bet they are very surprised when they run it.

I bet it's because of the article on lffl that paolo linked. It's a very popular website in Italy.

^ I was thinking that too, but that article specifically mentioned Old School, and they are downloading Psychedelic Shitstorm. Maybe they just like the name. :) Or maybe it was because that showed up as the "latest file" when they checked SourceForge. Anyway, it's interesting, and a little bit scary.

Don't take the d/l stats at sourceforge too seriously: one-one release is e.g. 80% in Cyprus, the other is 80% in Malaysia. These are the mirrors of sourceforge.net, and after a few weeks they have finished rotation :)

I think some trolls are already bombing Debian's devel list with the first article you linked Gekko.

Yes, as soon as I wrote about Debian choice on Twitter a random guy pointed me to that article...

Good to know, thanks. I'd hate to think there are more than 100 people in Italy trying to run Psychedelic Shitstorm and all saying "Che cazzo? Perché il mio schermo rosa?" (or some more accurate translation)
