was looking for a Games-thread, didnt remember if it existed, didnt feel like making one, so /dev/null it is.

No Man's Sky, a game that is almost entirely procedurally generated, and looks gorgeous at that. here's a short piece about how they did this, and more, how the fuck they debug that shit. http://www.thesixthaxis.com/2014/06/25/ ... -mans-sky/

looks quite awesome :)

Just got the terminal twitter client twidge working, it posted ok, but did not list some of my commands when I tried them. No biggie though, there were a warning from apt-listbugs that I ignored when I installed it so all blame goes to the bug. Anyone tried some other twitter terminal client worth trying?

If you do it tonight you can twitter us the weather forecast of the weekend ;)

It's really totally easy. Run 'turses', then you get a link in the terminal, you open the link in a browser, log in, then copy the PIN back to the terminal. Takes around 25 seconds :)

i subscribe to the 'A Word A Day' email newsletter. at the end of each week there is an email that has other emails from people writing in about the words of that week. i was quite surprised to see this bad joke from our friend Meatbeard:
From: Richard Stallman (rms gnu.org)
Subject: Monkey business

A monastery started selling jam and wine over the Internet. Was that monk e-business?
Dr Richard Stallman, Boston, Massachusetts

^ Some of the lucky London office had dinner with him, on Wednesday.
They said he spent his time coming up with 'amusing' puns. then complained about the absence of any atmosphere in the restaurant they went too, but enjoyed the food.
