Re: /dev/null
This whole conversation is worth its own thread but I guess it is mixed up with all the other stuff so I will not bother except somebody here is able to dismantle the thing and still split it into a nice new thread where we or I can remember the steps.

Re: /dev/null
Seems like a clean cut to me?
From here viewtopic.php?f=7&t=965&start=1480#p63896
onwards really.
Perhaps the OP(s) could collate the excellent info already here, once in a new thread?
I know the principles of all this, just can't be fucked to do it as in actually implement it :)

Re: /dev/null
So it went from me ranting about Android's heavy-handed Private DNS function, to VPNs, to DNS filtering, to F-Droid (??) to pros/cons of double-hoping, to tracerouting....
Sure, it all seems inter-related, but collating that into something presentable..... you're asking me of all people?
I'll try my best, but I wager you'd have better luck asking barbers to treat brain tumours than getting me to make sense out of anything I type.

Re: /dev/null
Thank you Wux for pointing at the beginning.
Done. But I almost fucked it up. Oh boy, it is not easy to edit stuff here and it seems like years the last time I ordered, split or merged posts. I never know which one it is. And it seems it did not go perfectly.

Re: /dev/null
Awesome Ivan! I was happy to point out what I thought was the start - but did not want to get the thread cutters out (I've never done it ) :D
Looks great.
Gutterslob, perhaps yes leave as the natural evolution of the thread. Definitely better broken out though - nice work !

Re: /dev/null
Now you lot just need to wait till Gekko and I start some new shit here again. =P
Also, I'd prefer to rename it to a simple "VPN and DNS Nonsense" because the Android bit was actually very small (just the first post) and most of it is really platform-agnostic, plus I don't like my name* on stuff.
*in case you guys get caught torrenting Disney shit and want to press criminal charges against me for forgetting to tell you to bind your torrent client to your VPN network interface.
Edit;
Is it still showing RE: /dev/null on the main Board Index page for you guys?

Re: /dev/null
^ I did rename it, but I'm not sure how to handle that RE: /dev/null, although my latest reply seems to have to correct title.

^ What do you mean "used to"?? We still do!!
I blame systemd for economic inflation too, and Poettering is the Jacob Rees-Mogg of Open Source.

^ Thanks. I removed the 0.4.3. version and installed the 0.4.5 apk. All good.

Damn, already October! Where the fq did September go?
Re: /dev/null
Thanks you. It was a pleasure reading it as it always is with what you write. I bet that you write and speak a beautiful Italian too. :)
Re: /dev/null
^ Thank you for taking the time to read my rants!
I write good Italian, but as for speaking it, shyness usually prevails and so I can't never sound as nice as I could. ;)
