vic, any terminal emulator can do more than what we actually want it to do - we just don't use the full 100% features :D

Really I like it simple, that's it. All the new shit is just feature creep. Though we love our colors. :)

Going to abuse this thread to express my renewed hatred towards GTK 3. Just spent an hour to find the correct patch that purges CSD from GTK 3.12 (as none of the variables or CSS do anything), and do the write-up for ArchWiki. Even then, all my themes are AGAIN broken.

Up yours GNOME. I wish with "Final Term" you meant to finally stop forcing your terms on others, instead of some hipster terminal.

So I found something neat in the AUR:

https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/gvfs-minimal/

I thought, looks simple enough, I could do that in Debian. Nope. Editing all those cryptic debian/* files, with the same shit scattered all over. Of course if it's wrong in one place, everything breaks. Thank god for ccache - but after 300 builds I still haven't figured it out.

My thoughts on Debian:
[yt]h7WH63wk-sA[/yt]

-> Checkinstall. /yields

Would be so much nicer if Linux could live without the monster that is consolekit/policykit/gvfs/systemd/whateveryoucallit and all the freedesktop crap :( What happened today? I plugged in my old Samsung phone to copy files from the internal memory to the PC. Of course the fucker complained about missing permissions (/etc/polkit-1/ rules), so I simply did the most logical thing: sudo mount /dev/sdb /mnt/android

Guess what - that worked :)

even with my limited experience/knowledge, I am even aware that shit is a mess.

manual mount rules them all. This is what I have, this is where I want it. done.

There is also Airdroid.

Right, there's Airdroid, though it has one little problem: it keeps running in the background if you don't really kill it in the task manager. And on some phones, RAM is an issue. It does work, of course, and it has saved many o' ass :D

Yeah. For mounts, I use udevil and commonly refer to udisks2 as "Fuck Ur disks Too". It does shit like breaking eject buttons and hiding half of my devices (by design). I just wanted a stripped gvfs as a lot of file managers use it for Trash support - another win for SpaceFM which uses plugins instead.

Yey, the barbi is rich ya!
Please I would like you to keep this proposal as a top secret and delete it if you are not interested and get back to me if you are interested for details as regards to the transfer of $24,500,000 to you.
This money initially belongs to a Libyan client who died in the libya crisis and had no next of kin in his account-opening package in my bank here in Hong kong where I am a bank director. In other to achieve this, I shall require your full name, and telephone number to reach you. Most importantly, a confirmation of acceptance from you will be needed after which I shall furnish you with the full details of this transaction.
Yours Truly,
Yao Yuta

OK, I mailed the guy and he has already transferred 20'000'000 USD to the BBQ bank account. The remaining part is cut to slices:
- 500'000 I will directly donate to Linux Mint (doing something useful!)
- 500'000 to freedesktop.org (so they can unify my fucking computer)
- 500'000 to the GNOME3 project (because more is simply more!)
- 500'000 to the Numix project (because flat themes can't be free as in beer!)
- 500'000 to the Whistle (because you shall be eggsalad to each mother)
- 500'000 to kidx (so he can finally remix the Inferno and buy a spellchecker)
- 500'000 to Mdambe Bdubale, director of the Nigerian State Bank for all his efforts in helping the BBQ be were it is today!
- 1'000'000 to the GNU Emacs project, should they finally develop a working editor.
