Is this, by any chance, connected to a certain person from the #! forums? :P

^ Hahaha. That is automatically when I use a GUI screenshot tool without naming it, the system speaks Deutsch anyway.

Thanks for the laugh guys :))
Re: /dev/null
My favorite is truck - LASTKRAFTWAGEN. At least they have LKW for that lol
Re: /dev/null
half of these words sound equally harsh in Dutch. which is probably why they don't include the Dutch translation in those comics. truck = vrachtwagen in Dutch, for example. science = wetenschap (german translation i think should just be wissenschaft, naturwissenschaften in Dutch is natuurwetenschappen = natural sciences, or something). petals = bloembladeren. imagination = voorstellingsvermogen.

^ You are right, it is Wissenschaft, voorstellingsvermogen could also be Vorstellungsvermögen. I mean we know that both languages are similar.

Re: /dev/null
When I see those words, I keep thinking they look similar to a mix of how old Norwegians speak, and Swedish.
For example:
Wissenschaft in Swedish would be vetenskap or in Norwegian vitenskap.
vrachtwagen, Now this is probably not used much, But I have seen fraktvagn used.
I keep wondering why I can not learn German before I retire...

Re: /dev/null
vrachtwagen = Frachtwagen = truck?
Should be (comparably!) easy for Swedes (or Danes, Dutch, maybe also for Norse) to understand German "out of the box", probably easier than Polish :D
