So, are we officially dead or what?

That is a good question if you look at the activity so far. I hope not and officially we are not dead yet but somehow real life got in the way for everybody.
But I am still here, I am, even though I have nothing special to say or to contribute. But when there is less community engagement I think there is less motivation to post.

The bigger problem I see is also the change of domain and therefore lack of visibility of the project and of course that we do not have any updates or spins, projects we are really working on to show off.

But all that mentioned does not change that a key contributor is missing. You all know who I mean and probably some more.

Sometimes I thought to revive the grill but time constraints make that difficult. Still I am open to it and probably need inspiration and more conversation here in general.

Just my two cents so far. Nice to see you Slob and greetings to you.

Good to hear from you too, Ivan.

I was away for a bit and checked here earlier, only to see no posts aside from some spam about phone jammers (deleted now I think). Hoping this place doesn't go away, though I suppose everything dies eventually, even stars (Eta Carinae still hanging in there though). I suspected you chaps had found some other place to hangout and I wasn't invited. =P

Haha. No. No worries.
Though it is true, nothing lives forever, that is how life is. :)

Yep, already deleted the spam, the proof that we (I) still care. First I though, cool, new posts.

The sad truth is: I haven't been experimenting that much with Linux for quite a while.

The home server is running fine with Debian stable no-X, and the XPS has been sporting Ubuntu 18.04 with no hiccups for almost a year. Emacs is still where I spend most of my time, coding during the day and a bit of writing over the weekends.

Eventually, I realised I value cinema more than IT, so whenever I have spare time, films fit right into it.

Guess I'm just getting old.

So here we are, @/dev/null. Well it is nice to see that you are still around here sometimes. When the bbq went off the grid last autumn, so did I.

Nothing going on here either, mostly same same, work is exhausting due to the fact that we are perpetually understaffed. Anyway, see you around, and let`s try to keep the flame alive at the least, even if it`s not has been burning brightly lately. ;)

It was an interesting read. Thank you. I know exactly what you mean and I think one of the reasons why it became so quiet here is because we all need time off-screen.

Amen to that GekkoP! Thank you for sharing it. On point, well formulated, and I must say that I agree 800%.

Just wanted to stop by and say hello, hope you guys are doing allright. I was a little surprised when I found a Wordpress tutorial at linuxbbq.org, but I'm glad this place is still kicking.

A good read. Thanks for sharing.

I was on a similar trip with regards to "productivity". Why in quotes? Because it means different things to different people. Me personally, I never considered anything from work productive. For me work is something I do to not starve. Productivity to me, after a long time, I realized is about fun.

Recent conversation;
Me: I haven't been feeling productive lately.
Friend: Hmm, I could recommend a few seminars or workshops. Good stuff.
Me: Fuck you!! I'm buying the new Zelda and a Switch.

^ With that I agree completely.
It is often true that when they talk about productivity it is at work and related.

^^ & ^: absolutely with you. (and thanks for reading my piece)

It's now perfectly clear to me (after many, often pointless, wanderings of the mind) that work is just work and the less I question it the better I feel. This does not mean do it poorly, but it doesn't mean stressing too much over productivity.
