Hope I get more work this year, because my wallet can't keep up with my Bandcamp spending.

I`ll be damned! It is snowing, thick, heavy, wet snowflakes from a very grey sky. Will have to find the shovel today.

Enjoy 2021! It already begins shitty and only can get better or maybe even worse. :) The snow is almost gone or that little white surface we actually had.

We celebrated also with pizza but with wine. I still have bottles of wine and even more beer to enjoy this January. Now is the time for the festivities according to the Julian calendar.

I got the box of 7inch 45s out and had fun on the turntables for new years, kids buggered off and did something else.
Was quite nice having a locked down xmas and NYE. no pressure at all.

Today I forgot the '/bbs' when visiting the forum, and was pleasantly surprised by the same old welcome screen. Arguably the best distro website welcome screen ever.

Wux, you need to give that masterpiece the NFT treatment.

LOL. NFT = Not Fucking Today - at any rate. Wasn't there a piece about NFT's disappearing?
yeah I haven't been bothered to change it, there are bad links on there probably..

EVEN though we - ripped it off the Gentoo? april 1st gag in 2010?
oh 2015: https://www.gentoo.org/news/2015/03/31/ ... pdate.html (which doesn't even fucking exist any more - amateurs....)

I remember giving it a try but I felt like it was taking the fun away from Arch. I know the same can be said with Ubuntu and Debian, but at the time I was thinking "Arch is super cool, why should I be spoon fed when I can show off my Arch skills to the homies!?".

I also tried it once and was quite disappointed by the bloat but I know I am not the target group.

So what's the story with the whole freenode hostile takeover and subsequent exodus. Maybe Pid and Wux know something?
I'd heard of this Andrew Lee chap before a few times over the years (last big news was about him selling out PIA to Kape, iirc), but had no idea he was (according to the news articles) the crown prince of South Korea. He looks pretty normal for a famous S.Korean person, I must say. Every other S.Korean famous person I've seen looks like a mascot for a plastique surgery clinic or skin bleaching company.

I have read some of the crap about the "hostile takeover" and I still have no clue.

Arch is moving from Freenode to libera.chat.
