A quick one: I cannot believe I haven't used rsync before. Silly me.

^ Oh yes. I just fixed a small script I use to backup the school server here.
Bloat note: rsync as a nice progress info which I couldn't resist.

Oh man, rsync is my homeboy! I absolutely love it. A quick 'rsync -a /home/drchroot/audio/* /media/usb/Music' updates my music backup with all of the tunes I've downloaded with mps recently. I also use it to push updates to my experimental website; it's such a dynamic, dank tool.

rsync is a jewel.

The one that for some reason I missed is 'apt-file' search its bloat but after using something similar in Slackware for missing dependencies. Can just google for missing files but... nice to have options.

Messed with git rebasing. Even with Magit helping. I suck at git.

duh. wanted my stuff from the laptop to my desktop:

Code: Select all

wux@laptop:~$ rsync -avP /home/wux/ wux@desktop:/home/wux/
So thereby blowing away all my fucking config in /home :(
