bizcuit review of windows 8 ...

Despite meself ... actually liking it. Upon 1st glance immediately hated it w a passion. Bit of dorking around and it's not as bad as I'd originally thought ( go figure). New Hp lappy ... of course includ the anti-christ (aka: win8) took awhile but the sucksazz quotient isn't nowhere near as bad as expected. Haven't yet tried it with a respectable OS but Hp is supposed to be gnu/nix friendly so have high hopes for the box. Of course facing the UEFI crap though confident will find many ways around it ... Sighs.

Leaving off with hope all the fine nixers here are doing well and VLLBBQ! :)

Lol ... hiya's to Wux.

One of the 1st moves made was to DL firefox on this box. Honestly don't know why anyone would use IE ( any version). Not just craptastic imo ... also a massive IT sec risk for any windows product. IE10 is still lurking on this box though don't plan on ever using it ( unless update necessary-etc).

Anyway Wux you are for sure within the good vibes to fellow nixers category dude. Definitely hope things are well w you + yours fellow nixer. Win8 isn't as bad as I'd expected, coupla hours of screwing around and getting used to it, shrugs. UEFI will present a challenge but am confident will be multibootin the box soon enough regardless, shrugs. Lol ... 2 be honest they make 2 big a pain, will back up, wipe and install summin gnu/nix regardless of what they think whether it voids warranty or not. ;)

Though am glad you found a way around whatever azzhatness some freakin fanboi or craptastic person decided to put in play, biz has always appreciated your gnu/nix skillz, know how and guidance in all things nix MB. I tried Windows 8 once. It was crap. Then I tried Windows 8.1, and it was still crap... for me anyway. In my mind, the problem is not that it's touch friendly (I'd take Gnome 3 any day over it), but that it's just really messy and inconsistent...
