closing da grill

Unread post by machinebacon » Tue Apr 01, 2014 1:13 pm

dear visitors
due to financial and technical problems the leadership has decided to close the grill. all releases will be merged in Linux Mint's new branch based on Debian unstable. furthermore, we recommend a visit at the excellent aptosid distrolette.

thank you for your support,

Oh I hope the merged release will be a combination of Gnome, KDE and all the goodness of every over WM and DE known to man. All daemons running at the same time to anticipate every possible fucking usage scenario people can come up with. Base install is 50GB with another 150GB of "you should really be using these!" packages slipstreamed in during the first software update.

Can't wait!

It's about time somebody did something. As Obi-Wan Kenobi describes Mos Eisley, the grill is also clearly "a wretched hive of scum and villainy." Let's water it down, Minty-style.

Well I am not surprised. I started using windows8 with that slick metro interface and it goes so well with my facebook theme and various desktop widgets that I realized how far behind linux was in terms of everyfuckinthing - and this announcement just proves my point.
By the way machinebacon now that you will have more time if you can write a tutorial on how to add smileys in facebook chat .

ps:do you know how i can change the font to comic -sans ms in internet explorer? Give me a tutorial (step by step!)

I quite like Comic Sans MS
- never really figured out why people hated it so much.

Johnraff, people hate it because it is a terrible font! Probably because it was over-used as well. My dislike for that font came when I started seeing it everywhere, but as we say in our neighbourhood "十人十色" (ten people ten colours) so let's disagree on the quality of that font!

to me it is just a personal preference: i think it is really ugly. for some weird reason i am really focussed on shapes, and i really dislike the shapes in Comic Sans.

i believe anytime a large group of people hate something, 90% of them are not even sure why, and have never given it much thought. they just decided one day that they hated it, too.

I was slightly confused by the title, yep. Do we have this crap in our country? In Spain it is at the end of December.

Since xp is closing down in these days it is very good timing for an upgrade to vista.
