Language Policy

Freedom of Speech you say?

LinuxBBQ encourages forum dwellers to use their native language. Every language has the right to be heard, so if you don't feel comfortable with the unofficial Internet language English, simply use your own mother tongue.

Happy roasting everyone!

(anybody who can translate this into other languages please do so, and we can post it here to get at least an overview of what languages are 'supported' by community members)

@rhow - i dunno about 'support' - french is not my mother tongue.

i think o.g can prendre le baton - i'm only any use with swearing and shouting 'lance moi un cle de dix'

@wux: 'support' was meant here as the language being understood by people inside the community. as to giving actual Linux-support: no, i expect that will often still have to be done in English, simply because maybe whoever speaks a certain foreign language might not have much knowledge about the user's particular issue. but at least they'll be able to explain themselves a bit in their mother tongue.

Hy
French is my mother tongue.

Maybe there is some chinese people around :-)

;-)

great stuff...have nothing else to offer here. Chiming in nonetheless. Used to know Hebrew, but that's a long time ago. Some spanish too, but again, only because required in school.

We do however plan to make sure our kids are multi-lingual. Do think it is important. Kudos to MB...

You guys are awesome! srsly, i like your style, embracing the chaos ;-)
Other projects/distros seem to struggle with self inflicted conventions ...just a matter matter of time before they loose their energy/creativity. cant happen with BBQLinux.
I wanna be part of your community (yet another oddball ... just a warning ^^)
One does not simply eat off ze community grill.
So I wanna be your WINE guy. You need a wine guy, trust me. I am NOT talking about NOT an emulator. Let me quote a friend of mine from France:"Sis is not gud wine!" This is the real deal: a dogly beverage that makes you fell warm inside and not give a fuck. The best part: you can(and should!) also season your meat with it... just be careful around electronics xD

For the Hungarians:

Ércsük' a magyart is :D

- Gépsonkának valamilyen ínyenc módon elkészített húsételt ajándékozni (de olyat, amilyennel még nem találkozott; sok szerencsét);
- Fekete Ivánnak megadni egy lakcímet, ahol megölendő embert és/vagy egy üveg ingyen sljivot talál;
- Pidsley-nek prezentálni egy screenshotot, amin Xorg használata mellett a szóban forgó fórumlakó rendszere nem használ több memóriát, mint 30 MB;
- Rhowaldtnak biztosítani egy évre elegendő horgolásnál használatos anyagot.

Na jó, csak vicceltem. Happy roasting :)

^ Hard to understand for a Serbian guy even if I have to drive always through Vojvodina to make a burek break but nevertheless it sounds awesome. :)

Willkommen kr3mz0r!
