[RESOLVED] PHP5

Unread post by dkeg » Tue Apr 08, 2014 11:22 am

Be careful with PHP5. On Colin it is held back ...

Code: Select all

The following packages have been kept back:
   php5 (5.5.10+dfsg-1 => 5.5.11+dfsg-1)
   php5-cgi (5.5.10+dfsg-1 => 5.5.11+dfsg-1)
   php5-cli (5.5.10+dfsg-1 => 5.5.11+dfsg-1)
   php5-common (5.5.10+dfsg-1 => 5.5.11+dfsg-1)
The following packages will be upgraded:
   bash (4.3-5 => 4.3-6)
   libssl-dev (1.0.1f-1 => 1.0.1g-1)
   libssl1.0.0 (1.0.1f-1 => 1.0.1g-1)
   openssl (1.0.1f-1 => 1.0.1g-1)
on Gruffalo (Spring 2014 r2), I was too quick to pull the trigger. Turns out it said will be removed, not held back.

So now it's broken. Can't reinstall php5-common b/c it requires php5-json. Can't install php5-json b/c it requires phpi-201212 (something like that) which is part of php5-common. Hopefully once the packages are not held back it will allow me to reinstall.

Yep rookie mistake.

on the broken box remove all php5 packages, and then upd/ins again in a few days. i think you got a partial remove in a transition.

Still, should have not been caught by this. Anyway, seems to be fixed. I'll give it a go this evening and report back.

Code: Select all

Version: 5.5.11+dfsg-2

Yep, seems to be fixed. PHP5-common and PHP5-json came through in the update, and re-installed php5-cli php5-curl without any issues.

Resolved ...
