FYI, it's (right now) fairly easy to compile out systemd from (e.g) policykit, by specifying the --disable-systemd configure flag. But as said, it's probably a better investment to avoid all that stuff entirely.

In sid the transition was made. I close this one also to avoid useless anti systemd posts. If you have trouble, please consider posting in support.

One thing though. Consider not to install systemd-shim, it seems it won't support the newest logind/systemd combo. It is better to use systemd properly or use sysv, it is still here, or another init system of your *choice*.
