Got this now. Tried to google, but it only came up with some stuff from Ubuntu 2009 :)

I think you can take it. Firstly, the package is not essential (part of the build tools), so you can either install this version or remove it (I don't have dpkg-dev on this machine and all is well)

It is a low priority bug. I would not worry even with the package installed on your system.
