I still get

Code: Select all

The following packages will be REMOVED:
   xserver-xorg-video-all (7.7+8)
   xserver-xorg-video-modesetting (0.9.0-1+b2)
   xserver-xorg-video-siliconmotion (1.7.7-2+b2)
any issues to be expected with the non siliconmotion being removed?

^ No problems here. The -all package contains /all/ drivers (metapackage), so if you remove, for example, -siliconmotion, then -all is removed, too. The -modesetting will be dropped sooner or later, from what I have read. FWIW, I don't have these three installed either and my (-intel) work laptop boots up normally. I'll upgrade the other PCs later today, if something breaks I reopen.
