a plain ap-get upgrade seems to have gone without a hitch.

Code: Select all

uname -a
Linux Victory 4.0.0-2-586 #1 Debian 4.0.8-2 (2015-07-22) i686 GNU/Linux

Oh fuck. I think an occasional apt upgrade will be alright. Though I have not any updates since last week before the fallout due to no internet connection. :-)

As doubledutch said here, it is now less risky to try a d-u.
I did it.
Everything is working so far.

Code: Select all

~ % policy gcc
gcc:
  Installed: 4:5.2.1-4
  Candidate: 4:5.2.1-4
  Version table:
 *** 4:5.2.1-4 0

        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

Probably safer to wait. I'm just crazy enough to give it a ride.

(truth is: I am alone in the office these days)

Yeah, rolling OK here.

Yeah interesting upgrade ride with Bork but system working well and up to date. Installed libreoffice from Libreoffice site.

Changed from Iceweasel to Seamonkey using Ubuntu binaries and still loving Bork.
