Libcairo2 and Iceweasel (normal bug) [fixed]
Is someone seeing again scrambled fonts in Iceweasel? One reason I am on Iceweasel at all is that Firefox stopped to show the fonts correctly. With Iceweasel all was good, I think becuase it is integrated into the Debian system with its specific libraries that it uses. After the first d-u to Jessie/Sid with the new libcairo2 (that was updated twice) the fonts are now blurry in Iceweasel, too.
The upgrade was from version libcairo2 1.12.2-3 to 1.12.14-4. Maybe I could revert and test.
Now the reference.
Putting this package on hold should suffice.
But if you are already bitten by this nice feature, downgrade the package by downloading the version from Testing/Jessie or from Stable/Wheezy, install it with dpkg and put libcairo2 on hold.
Happy surfing!

Maybe it is just me, the system is getting old.

It is truly a mess but doable. Now are times when Debian shows its ugly face. Blame the freeze of ten months.wuxmedia wrote: Otherwise I haven't dared upg yet

I am not blind, I knew it. I am the fonts pro! It is like I said, libcairo and they needed so many posts to find it out. :D

The new libcairo2 1.12.14-5 does not change to the better. Still holding the package.
