I ran into this just after installed bloat after upd / dup. I put it on hold.
upgrade is libgtk-3-0 (3.4.2-6 => 3.8.2-1)
Code: Select all
sudo su
echo libgtk-3-0 hold | dpkg --set-selections

Yep, same here. I would say if you do not use many Gtk3 apps from upstream Gnome you are save to upgrade. I did it without issues, though the only Gtk3 app I use is Transmission.machinebacon wrote: ...think this affects GNOME packages (network-manager-gnome for example) mostly because I tried to break my biach and nothing bad happened.

But I never got it to work as expected, a poor man's snap maybe.machinebacon wrote:general info: there's now aerosnap in xfce4.10 (window manager settings, IIRC)
You can try to hold back the packages libgtk-3-0, libgtk-3-bin, libgtk-3-common and gir1.2-gtk-3.0 after installing the Cinnamon flavor.Verändert wrote:I even wondered: Hey, does Cinnamon support libgtk 3.8 now ?
No. It doesn't.
I would reinstall but then i could try another flavor instead. I just have to find a way to reach a graphical desktop with those.
Sid is even more fun than Arch ;-)
Code: Select all
su -
echo "<packagename> hold | dpkg --set-selections"
Oh, that's the way. How blind I am. Thanks Julesy.machinebacon wrote:Ivan, that's the thing where you disable 'wrap to next workspace'. Afterwards, pulling the window towards an edge will 50% it and snap it. Should be possible to assign keybindings to it a la kwin.
