Well, let's wait until liquorix gets up to 3.13 and have a test run with it.

or anybody in for aptosid's slh kernel, just for kicks?

deb http://aptosid.com/debian/ sid main fix.main
deb-src http://aptosid.com/debian/ sid main fix.main

Just add this into a new file in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/anything.list

then do a "upd" and a "search slh 3.13"

^ If they time out

# deb http://debian.tu-bs.de/project/aptosid/debian/ sid main fix.main
# deb ftp://ftp.spline.de/pub/aptosid/debian/ sid main fix.main

are some alternatives

I'm in the process of sucking the aptosid kernel just for comparison in RAM usage (as Tim mentioned before, I also notice a way lower RAM sage with the new one, even in a bloated XFCE4 session)

So yeah, waiting for the liquor :)

okay so aptsid 3.13 works. * edit: no pae version though. And, so now the question is ... And curious what will happen with liquorix *

no real noticable change in performance / ram usage. I get my best results from the plain vanilla kernel. Problem is that whatever towo did, gives me same blank screen.

Interesting. No time to test it right now, but I'll try the same asap.

Ok, I lied, couldn't resist my curiosity. Aptosid kernel boots for me as well.

Same here, aptosid boots (RAM usage and performance is same like siduction)

Okay, then we can keep this Upgrade Warning and recommend either:

- for non-PAE: install the aptosid slh kernel
- for PAE: go vanilla

Oh, guys - any of you whose PAE kernel makes problems, can you try the siduction non-PAE? Or do we have problematic non-PAE siduction kernel users here?

I'm just asking because I'd like to inform towo about these issues without sounding like a dick :) So: does the non-PAE siduction kernel make problems, or just the PAE one?

Users who have had problems with the towo-3.13 kernel are encouraged to run a full dist-upgrade today and install the newest 3.13-2 revision. Hopefully this fixes the black screen situations for those. It has been reported that the slh kernel from aptosid works fine. Today has also seen the upgrade of dmz's liquorix kernel to 3.12-9. So, have a try.

I caught it last night. No go for me. Same problem. Have been sticking with 3.12-8 and slh 3.13. I'll give liquorix a whirl at some point today.

towo.3 is finally working for me.

No notable difference in RAM usage, but I don't care, cause I'm happy. :)

towo.3 is the solution, I already removed 3.12-8 cause I feel brave. Curious about the issue too.
