Re: Art, with a capital A, or not
few finished artworks ever "moved" me. I was more interested in the tools n techniques employed & I zoned out (daydreams, not visions) messing with spirograph and the little hobo dude you dragged iron filings across his face by waving a magnet. Oh, and the "drip paint onto paper riding on a motorized wheel" toy ("Spin-Art" by Wham-o?)gave you mystical visions while you were a child

so "generative art" probably best describes my current/recent interest

Francis Bacon. I love Francis Bacon. If you are in medieval art and El Greco is not your cup of tea, you have to visit the Isenheimer Altar in Colmar, France. Want decent Art for your home ? Grab some issues of Derrière le mirroir.

Awesome Necrobump :D
I think most people forgot about this thread, well I did.... Every time i see some nice wallpapers, that soeme of you guys use, I think of paintings.
Recently I saw an Art Documentary called "Art of Scandinavia", on BBC. In the Norwegian episode there was a painter that is sadly not so known, but damn he can paint. Rusty might have heard of him, Peder Balke https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peder_Balke. He specialized in painting the rugged scenery in the furthest northern parts of Norway. https://goo.gl/BYYeeR I must admit some of them would make damn fine wallpapers too. They are quite dramatic in the rustic way, well enjoy :)
