Re: evilwm
^ fantastic. I still have to play with Exherbo, but if everything'll be right I'll have another test machine soon (can't understand why people throw good PCs away, but who cares) and I definitely want to give this a try.

Re: evilwm
Thank you Joe. But switching colors is now so damn easy, you cannot do anything wrong. :)
Re: evilwm
^ Nice. Is that 3.14 kernel working well for you?
I can't decide between evilwm and mcwm. I like the bindings in mcwm a little more, but evilwm is smaller, and I patched the mouse bindings. Good thing I don't have to just pick one.

Re: evilwm
^ Kernel is doing fine so far. No noticeable differences with 3.13-7 and same RAM usage once in X.
I like evilwm too. Too many good stackers around, impossibile (and not necessary :) ) to pick one.

@pidsley: maybe what you need is evilmcwm? ;)

Re: evilwm
slightly off topic: 3.14.0-pae and no-pae are working brilliantly on this Acer TravelMate P253-E, very smooth and better than the 3.9 series.
..gnutella..

" admiring:ubuntu evilwm scrot with 27Mb / 2Gb"
Beautiful and light, Pids!
I was mucking around with alpine linux today, (which doesn't come with man pages FFS) and it still ran at 37Mb / 2Gb
Pfft.
Amateurs, really.

(edit) Oh wait, that's a noX distro, for routers and firewalls?
(edit2) If people are interested, I could probably write a how-to for using busybox init on Debian (or Ubuntu). But then everyone could do it...

Re: evilwm
well, it's not impossible to install x on it.
but yes haven't got very far: http://linuxbbq.org/bbs/viewtopic.php?f ... 390#p22390
even thats running 290M / 800M no idea what with.
no so far as getting the FB up to reasonable spec. but by heck is it fast. install a package, it's done - boom.
I can reboot, saunter into the NOC (about 5 M) and shh in by the time I wedge my arse into the chair.
Edit, might play with it tomorrow, I managed to ruin my servers /e/n/i via ssh or possibly the Xen kernel i was trying to enable... -yeah top sysadmin work Wux. 8}
