version 0.117 is broken, stay with 0.116 for now! Else you won't be able to boot.

I dist-upgraded last night so I didn't see this one. But everything's fine on Haggis.
Code: Select all

Candidate: 0.117

Re: initramsfs-tools #762870
If it still boots with the new initramfs-tools package, it means that the initramfs wasn't updated (for example by installing a newer kernel). So if possible do not run 'update-initramfs' or do not install newer kernels with the broken initramfs-tools package.
Having the newer initramfs-tools package is no problem per se, but the generated initrd.img won't boot.

Re: initramsfs-tools #762870
Ok, thanks for the info. I won't change the kernel.
Re: initramsfs-tools #762870

Re: initramsfs-tools #762870
Good idea. If you are lucky, and you have older initrd.img's in the list, you can boot to them. For this you have to show the Extended menu in GRUB and pick a previous kernel. But sudo pm-suspend is the best idea for now.

Re: initramsfs-tools #762870
I think we can dare to upgrade if we have siduction fixes in our sources.list:
Their fix is to provide 0.116 as placeholder for 0.117 and thus preventing to put things on hold manually. Thanks to the uncles at siduction!
Code: Select all
policy initramfs-tools
initramfs-tools:
Installed: 0.116
Candidate: 0.117.2~really~0.116
Version table:

Re: initramsfs-tools #762870
On antiX-Sid, initramfs-tools 0.117 (the debian one) did not break. I have done several update-initramfs since. Apparently you need busybox on your system.

^ Thanks.
I'll try it later on a test machine before, if you don't mind my fear. ;)

Six in one half a dozen in the other. If its all the same I'll just keep it on hold.

Re: initramsfs-tools #762870
^ thanks vic!
It seems this is closed thanks to the fake package :) So, if somebody still has 0.116, try to skip the version.
