Re: [email protected]
I'd also like to ask for a linuxbbq.org email, so I can look cool in bug reports. *Glasses*

Re: [email protected]
Not really. Or it shouldn't.
mail.linuxbbq.org is separated from the main page/forums/wiki.
Please try this: https://webmail.opentransfer.com/horde/imp/
login with full mail address
Edit: oh I see, it's SMTP that doesn't work. Interesting. I will look into it.

Re: [email protected]
Hmm, it's the first time I've tried it...

Re: [email protected]
:) Well, then let's imagine SMTP is not supported :) Because, I only know of POP3 being supported ...

Re: [email protected]
The mail is indeed - totally separate from the forum.
Looks good. Going to check with mine to see how it works.
Yes sylpheed is my chosen mail client, gets a bit silly with about 50 IMAP folders, but I digress.
Code: Select all
wux@chauvin:~$ ftp mail.linuxbbq.org 25
Connected to mail1117.opentransfer.com.
220 mail1117.opentransfer.com ESMTP

I'm trying to recover from a Windows update that borked my MBR/Partition table.
Can I get the server to reset my password? (I forgot it).

Re: [email protected]
We are sorry to announce that our recent mail service will stop on September 15th 2014 due to financial and technical reasons. We have migrated the website, forums and the wiki to a new server. The mail server is separated from this infrastructure.
All users are advised to back up their address book, inbox and outbox.
The future of the LinuxBBQ mail service is not yet decided. Users will be informed when/if/as soon as the service is back.
Sorry for the inconvenience!

Re: [email protected]
OK, hands up if you really, really want (IMAP, roundcube webmail) email for linuxbbq?
Mail will not be migrated, this would be the user responsibility.
for reference this guide is what would be followed:

I don't have a strong preference either way. I only seldom used it. Have so many out there already.

Re: [email protected]
I would like to keep it for the sake of source that has that address specified as a contact.

Re: [email protected]
Did anyone see this? must have posted in the dead spot.
I posted it and I can't see it in the "new or "active" posts.
Unless no-one really wants an email acct, in which case, great!!
