This was helping me build serves today:
deep purple - machine head

Later I figured I'd cast it to my vestax from my Chrome audio. I realised I had the album on vinyl. So I thought time to compare and contrast. Quick pause. I once asked my dad why the record I got sounded shit compared to the CD version I owned on the family don't mini unit, which rekindled his audiophile tendancies until he died.
Fast forward to 2020 and I'm listening to the 1972 vinyl picked up at a car bit sale on 1980s decks with 90s pre amp tech...I suppose the needles are firm this millennium :D
honestly I had Chrome cast with normal cables into the line of the vestax and replacement but not mental cables from the technics. Then cross-fade between both sources and I was actually surprised (the eq was set the same the gain was up a touch on the vinyl to get the level up. Anyway

Sounds interesting.
If the equipment is subpar the vinyl will sound shitty. It does not forgive like a CD, especially with dust on top of it and a bad record player. And of course you need good needles and speakers otherwise the vinyl will sound too weak compared to a CD and moderate equipment but I am telling you stuff that you probably know already. :)

Though there are definitely some bad new pressings for the hipster market that sound just awful regardless the equipment.
