OPENBOX: BORK! (amd64) Release Notes
This is the Openbox base that replaces "Hot Dog"/"Weckewerk".
BORK! The name says it all. You are not afraid of sid/experimental? GTK3 is on your blacklist? You don't need no systemd? Your computer is from the last decade, has a RAM size of three digits and a CPU that powers a solar calculator? You give a flying fuck about GPT and UEFI, just want to give your smelly Pentium a new home? You promise not to use btrfs and lvm? To update, upgrade and install packages you use the excellent 'apt' command? You believe in beards, sandals, marijuana and/or clicky keyboards? You like process trees that don't need a scroll wheel to display all their beauty? You know that 'sudo bbqinstall' or 'sudo bbqinstaller' will put the live system onto a prepared partition?
GOOD! Click me. And you get this:
Note:
- after installation and reboot, run the command 'username2xres' once.

Nice painless install.
Thanks for making me drag a 64 bit capable machine out of the pile.

Re: OPENBOX: BORK! (amd64) Release Notes
@bacon Should I remove Hot Dog and Weckewerk from the Active releases list ?
If you can do it go ahead and do it, if you can't do it then don't even criticize it. - gingerdesu

Wuhuuu, thank you Julius. 64bit here I come :D
BTW Why no VI(M) here?!? And Nano sucks for editing configs on the go. <----- sorry couldn't help myself again :P So much weird action has happened in the BBQ forums lately.
cheers

Re: OPENBOX: BORK! (amd64) Release Notes
Yeah - What's wrong with installing even something like KATE and using the Vi eumulation mode? jesus Some people, and if you're using 64 bit to access that 16Gb on your 1TB SSD i7 then you can afford it :P
Re: OPENBOX: BORK! (amd64) Release Notes
Dear sir bacon, very kind of you to update the 64 bit part of the grill. Thank you! (I do not have any 64 bit hardware for the moment, it went very kaputt, but wanted to thank you anyway :)

Installed on my recent purchase, all well, so time to mess it up I guess. :D
Re: OPENBOX: BORK! (amd64) Release Notes
Was excited to try this out but I'm running it now on Oracle Virtualbox on a Window 7 machine using a 64 bit virtual session and it stops the boot process because of the display. I had to run VGA mode m from the boot menu. Will see if I can fix the downloaded version linuxbbq-bork-amd64-20150526 with a customized snapshot with the correct mode to work in a Virtualbox session.
:)
Edit: OK created a snapshot and during bbqsnapshot I changed the bootmenu default choice to use vga=0x0314 instead of vga=current. Might not be a perfect solution for everyone but it works flawlessly in Virtualbox. I chose the mode from http://www.dmp.com.tw/tech/os-xlinux/xl ... al-5.7.htm (Section 8.12)
Oh and btw. I am loving a few new things. I didn't have to touch the bbqinstall_excludes to create a live snapshot. NICE!!! ty

^ Before anybody bites your head off: never mention the word "VirtualBox" on these forums.

Re: OPENBOX: BORK! (amd64) Release Notes
^ hehe no worries, it's just because kernels 3.19, 3.20 and 4.0 have several problems with/in VirtualBox, at least they were problematic in the last revisions, e.g. no login to X, no disk access, etc.
Google for "virtualbox kernel 4" to see what I mean :)
