I know this is a tough question for many people, but do you have an all-time favorite song? Phantom of the Opera by Iron Maiden is mine, mainly because of Steve Harris on bass. Best bass player ever in my opinion.

Reeeeaaaally hard to say. Like for every "favorite/top5/top10/top20.." of anything I'm into, it is something that changes on regular basis.
My favorite song right now is Boeves Psalm, by Lars Hollmer. This version in particular: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N639Es6iqTk

That's really good, actually. Very "nuanced" I guess you would call it. I like it

Re: Favorite song
can't name *one* favorite --
Love's _Forever Changes_ (1968) album is full of favorites. Two favorite favorites:
"Your Mind and We Belong Together"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=asU5mWc6xrc
"A House Is Not a Motel"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qInF7WKOz4c
And there is this magnificent ridiculousness, from Maurice Gibb of all people. Best thing he ever did. He and some friends got completely wasted drunk and improvised in mock-Beatles style over a pre-recorded track for some other band. They were just screwing around, but an engineer decided to take the tape and release it as an actual record.

Re: Favorite song
Yeah, limiting it to a single piece is like asking someone to pick their favorite child. If I had to choose a single one, though, I would point to Remy Zero's "Fair".

Re: Favorite song
It would be easier to pick a favorite album :)
But as for favorite song (that doesn't get on my nerves as quickly as others) it's probably Down To The Waterline by Dire Straits. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lz1TlJGLzqs because it rolls quite smoothly, has a nice change in the middle part of the solo, and the band is quite tight behind it. Not my favorite band, but yeah.

The llama song. That "the orange slayed the rake" line. You'll never hear anything as deep.
Re: Favorite song
@GS: man, the person who made that llama song play twice in a row made such a stupid ugly cut in the middle i cannot believe it. it's not that difficult to make it sound good, come on. catchy tune though, i like it.
@G: don't think i've ever heard much (consciously at least) by Suede, but really liked that song, thanks for posting it.

^ Oh, if you get me started on Suede I'll bore the hell out of you. I'll try to be as brief as possible.
I love, really love Suede, but only when Bernard Butler was there. After, they're just not the same to me. So, basically, check these records out:

Dog Man Star https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fdc6Sd0EhNQ

Re: Favorite song
Far to tough a question, but I really like Johnny Cash's "Ring of Fire" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gRlj5vjp3Ko
and probably a zillion other tracks. It really depends on mood and atmosphere.

^^wux: I love Beck
my favorite serious song by him: "Strange Apparition" -- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T4I0_p13K_Y
Something about that pounding piano, then that breakdown at the end, is just the best....
and then it's a toss-up between these two for his best funny song:
Debra -- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qL_9zWmDcjs
Satan Gave Me a Taco -- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I-XuMvxi-vc
honorable mention to this Bob Dylan cover:
Leopard-Skin Pillbox Hat -- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CAGx0Lkq8tM
