Ivanović is trying to be cool
I did not post a screenshot for a while because of Dkegs incredible abilities. So I will not bother you with my simple evilwm configuration. Instead I will post a new Xfce shot. It was time for a little bit GUI love.
The theme is Shiki Brave Classic revived.
Lately I am extensively using deadbeef for my music needs. I added a cool spectrum a la foobar.
Edit: Of course I use the Arimo font for everything at the moment, that means Cousine in the terminal.

A beauty (and I too use Deadbeef when in XFCE).

Re: Ivanović is trying to be cool
Bacon you beat me to it. Really thanks for Space Oddity.
I already tried Break and wanted to play with Openbox for real. Not bad. Of course sid is not playing nicely at the moment and on this machine it is even worse. dist-upgrade failed terribly with X stuff. Though I knew what I was getting.
I installed Slackware later with Xfce. Was a perfect choice but boring.
Later I took everything from the grill and smashed it together and pussified it on top of a Debian Jessie netinstall and decided to go with Openbox because I never used it seriously. A nice accomplishment.
I have yet to customize the right click menu and this tint2 configuration was already a pain in the ass.

The Openbox is awesome! I use deadbeef everywhere, but I never installed it :( I couldn't figure out what to put where, so I have copies of deadbeef everywhere- except in the menus X)) I just go to my deadbeef folder and click, lols. Sorry, off-topic but I love the way you're deadbeef looks!
Lovin' that xfce4, too! Very cool!

looks good ivo. i just think the icons are an eye-sore, but that is just my personal presence for either monochrome or no icons :)

Of course I took my inspiration from Munch and from your spins. ;) Yes, the icons are Gnome Colors Wine. I did not show off the Openbox and Gtk theme because there is none at the moment that I added. It looks shitty. Plain ugly defaults at the moment.
Added urxvt, have yet to add some xcolors, using systemd straight from Debian, why not and even networkmanager for the first time in decades. :) But I have to say it runs like a NASA rocket. It boots with 60 MB of RAM and that coupled with systemd! Take it you whiners.
This time I added Chromium because it is only a 32 bit OS with Pepper Flash from the repos, wow, Flash runs perfectly.
For convenience I also added nitrogen for walls and I still prefer Thunar over PCManFM, I use it also on evilwm.
This old rig flies right now.
You just have to make a shortcut to it or of course in Openbox having the pain to play with xml or use xbindkeys. And then you can even get it straight from deb-multimedia.noo_b_nomnoms wrote:The Openbox is awesome! I always hated xml and still do. That is one of the reasons why I normally stay away from Openbox.Snap wrote:NIce job, Ivan. Clean and cool. Enjoy those xml if you can. I prefer to stay away of WMs using xml or lua. Gimme plain text! LOL.
Oh Rhow beat me to it. Yes, the icons are not perfect but I fucking hate Faenza. It was one thing I tried and was not happy. No idea wich icons would be more cool.

I think they look too colorful, seems a trend lately after Numix. :)
Damn, I almost smashed my laptop with that shitty Imgur site, sorry C but IMO it is an absolutely bloated site.
That came off as rant.

Re: Ivanović is trying to be cool
the best icon set is "none". I always set up lxappearance or xfce4-config to use "no icons on buttons and menus", and just the best fitting set for the systray icns (volumeicon can set its own if wanted).
would be nice to have some unsaturated ones like in #! those days, should be easy enough to do with imagemagick, I guess.

^ Funny one of the absolute first things I do when trying "ready made" distros, is to remove all icons :D
There is no reason really for it, but.... maybe I am slightly pedantic or neurotic in this area :o

<troll>Icons... Icons... hmm those religious paintings...thats a bit weird to post about on a linux forum.. Icons...Oh yes!
Icons like pictures of shit on your desktop that you have to hover around with the pointer looking for the right program. blue, it was blue right, on the right? Oh no that's a blue picture on my deskthing. hmm, think i'll just fucking alt-F3 and type it in. Or hang on it's showing me where the program is running and on which workspace, so i can click on it to go... oh it killed it. Think i'll just alt-3 it, that's where i've told the fucker to be.</troll>
Although, those icon things are quite pretty though.
