Re: Distros of interest
Has anyone tried RISC OS? https://www.riscosopen.org/content/ I was given a beagleboard and might give it whirl. I was going to try it on my Pi but Slitaz does such a great job for me that I don't want to remove it. I guess I should just get another Pi since they're so cheap now.

^ I would probably be more inclined to use the one you posted! :)
Re: Distros of interest
i've seen FreeBSD mentioned, but i've found Dragonfly BSD to have better hardware compatibility (though i admit the software availability is somewhat lower...they do mention that many FreeBSD ports will work with their system). i've installed Dragonfly on a system that wouldn't boot the FreeBSD or PCBSD install disks. their Hammer file system is a bit higher in overhead, but less so than ZFS, in my experience, and was developed completely in-house.

Re: Distros of interest
@machinebacon Haiku is a neat little operating system! I've installed it a few times. It has a ways to go, but with more interested developers it could probably be a great option as an alternate OS.
I usually go with the nightly builds, because they've added a LOT since the official release.

Sir! Put down the hammer and slowly step away from the computer.

^ Of course, the one I didn't search the forums for, unlike redox, which I did! ;)
EDIT: Running live dvd right now. Gnome3, ugh, but surprisingly light and responsive even still, except for Tor browser, which of course is slow everywhere, because security.

Not really of interest personally but Devuan Beta is out, the systemd-less Debian fork, even with planet names for Testing/Unstable.
https://devuan.org/
Not only have we so much Debian/Ubuntu derivatives, it is now time for a ton of no systemd derivatives.
